We had all kinds of ideas for things to do today, but hadn't really decided, when -- very strangely -- a little squirrel appeared in the back yard. It was obviously a baby and very tame.
Not only did it not shy away when we approached, it actually came right up and seemed to want contact. It even jumped on our feet and was happy to be picked up (Don't try this at home).
Not wanting to expose it to the dangers of our own dogs, and figuring that it had been orphaned, we took it to the Humane Society where we knew it would be well cared for.
Also, since we were nearby, we visited the Quaking Bog at Wirth Park.
